Jim O'Rourke

I was born in Liverpool where I gained a degree in Building Engineering. I spent the next 40 years in Structural & Civil Engineering, before retraining as a Horticulturist & Garden Designer. 

My Story

My wife Jackie, and I moved to Maryport in 2013 and quickly became connected to The Settlement. 

 

I was a founder member of Castle Hill Trust which took over the running of The Settlement after the previous charity had to wind up. 

 

Since I came to Maryport, I have developed my interest in art, photography and fell walking.  I care passionately about education i.e. Lifelong Learning and enabling everyone to realise his/her full potential.
